Skopelos is the greenest island in the Aegean — almost entirely covered in dense pine, olive and plum orchards. The hilltop town of Skopelos is one of the most beautiful in Greece, with 123 churches climbing the hillside. The island was the filming location for Mamma Mia, and the clifftop church of Agios Ioannis has become a pilgrimage for fans. Quieter and more authentic than Skiathos next door.

Panormos Beach
The finest beach on Skopelos — a sheltered pebble bay completely enclosed by pine forest. The water clarity is exceptional and the setting is one of the most beautiful in the Sporades. A good taverna on the beach makes it easy to spend the whole day.

Stafylos Beach
