Who runs this site

Aegean Blueprint is a travel guide to the Greek islands, written and maintained by Stergios Gousios in Athens, Greece. It's a personal project, not a company.

What data this site collects

Almost nothing directly. The site has no signup, no login, no comments, and no contact form. You can use the entire site without identifying yourself.

Two narrow exceptions:

Local storage in your browser. Your language choice (English / Greek) and your dark-mode preference are saved in your browser's localStorage so the site remembers them on your next visit. This data never leaves your device.
Server logs. The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, which keeps standard web-server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited). I don't see or process these logs.

Cookies and third-party services

The site uses the following third parties, each of which may set cookies or collect data according to their own privacy policies:

Google AdSense — shows ads. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. EU/UK visitors will see a consent banner before personalized ads are served.
Google Analytics 4 — measures aggregate traffic so the author can see which islands and pages are most read. Google may set cookies to distinguish unique visits. IP addresses are anonymized at the edge before being processed. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Google Fonts — serves the Nunito and Nunito Sans typefaces. When your browser fetches the fonts, Google sees your IP address and User-Agent. Google states this data is logged briefly for security and not used for advertising profiles.
Cloudinary — hosts images. Standard CDN logs only.
OpenStreetMap / Leaflet — provides map tiles when you view the map. OpenStreetMap's privacy policy applies to tile requests.

The site does not use any other tracking pixel beyond what's listed above.

Affiliate links

Some pages may contain occasional affiliate links — for example to a hotel booking site. If you click through and make a purchase, this site may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Recommendations are not chosen because of affiliate payouts; they're chosen because they're the picks the author would actually make. This is stated openly on the mission page.

Your rights (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you're in the EU, the UK, or another jurisdiction with comparable rules, you have the right to:

Know what data is being processed about you
Request access, correction, or deletion of any personal data the site holds about you
Withdraw consent for cookie-based advertising at any time (via the consent banner or your browser settings)
Lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in Greece, the Hellenic Data Protection Authority)

In practice, this site holds almost no personal data about you, so there's typically nothing to correct or delete. If you want to exercise any of these rights, email the address below.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 16. If you believe a child has provided data through this site, contact me and I will investigate.

Changes to this policy

If the site adds new third-party services or changes how data is handled, this page will be updated. Significant changes will also be noted on the homepage.
